Main Stage Riverside Theatre with MC Max Gillies and Guest Speaker John Howard
Friday 26 March 2010, 12pm to 3pm
Workshops in the Arts for People with Disabilities (WAPD) has been run by Riverside Theatres for over 14 years – 40 weeks a year, 6 sessions a week for people with severe to mild physical and intellectual disabilities including but not limited to Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism and Visual Impairment. One of the most professionally run programs of its type in NSW, the workshops are in high demand and Riverside Theatres needs to increase the number of classes as all are at capacity. The overwhelming popularity of the recent End of Year Concert also highlighted the crucial need for Riverside to instigate a program of permanent accessibility for the main theatre.
Riverside Theatres is seeking a minimum financial commitment of $15,000 to underwrite this highly successful and vital program.
In November 2009 a group of local Parramatta businessmen led by Rod Morrissey of NAB and Riad Tayeh of deVries Tayeh formed a committee to raise funds for this worthwhile cause. The three course luncheon to be held on the main stage at Riverside will be a highly anticipated annual event in the Western Sydney business calendar. Guests will participate in raffles, a live auction and a silent auction – all in support of WAPD. Each guest will also receive two complimentary tickets to selected shows at Riverside Theatre (maximum value $118).
If you wish to help, the committee is seeking raffle prizes, auction items and event sponsors. Tables of 10 can be purchased for $1200 + GST or individual seats at $130 each + GST. On line bookings are limited to one table at a time. If you wish to purchase more than one table please contact our box office on 8839 3399 or fax through the downloadable booking form.
Sponsorship packages, more information and booking forms for faxed orders can be downloaded on the left.
